Tips:
- Make sure you are not playing Eb!
- Be sure you start on the low F
Bb Major
Tips:
- Start with whichever Bb fingering is more comfortable (thumb or 1 & 1) then switch to learning the other fingering
Eb Major
Tips:
- Make sure you are keeping your left hand 1st finger up for middle D and Eb!
Ab Major
Tips:
- Look at your key signature before you start. (That Db will sneak up on you!)
Db Major
Tips:
- This key adds Gb, which has the same fingering as F# (but is NOT the same as F#)!
Gb Major
Tips:
- It may be easier to think of what is NOT flat (F) instead of what IS flat. (Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Cb)
B Major
Tips:
- Don’t forget there is B♮and A#!
E Major
Tips:
- Be sure to keep your left hand first finger up for the middle D, and down for the middle E.
A Major
Tips:
- G# has the same fingering as Ab (but is NOT the same as Ab)!
D Major
Tips:
- Remember the middle D has a different fingering than the high D.
G Major
Tips:
- Just F# in this key signature!
C Major
Tips:
- No flats or sharps in C major!
Bb Chromatic
Tips:
- Work slowly to make sure you don’t miss any notes.
- When you are more comfortable playing the chromatic scale, try memorizing it!
